Abstract: I will present a pre-analysis plan for a replication study designed to sharpen the results of my prior experimental work. Building on experimental data from nearly 1,400 respondents across three studies in Ukraine, my earlier work finds that reminding citizens of their past successes as a community reduces their nascent political ambition. Respondents with prior activist experience are the ones most dissuaded from running for office when reminded of their past collective and individual successes. The talk will discuss the ways to strengthen this contribution with a new replication project and open the floor for the audience to suggest other fruitful angles worth exploring in the replication study.
