Annemieke Van Den Dool

Assistant Professor of Environmental Policy, Duke Kunshan University

Van den Dool’s area of expertise is policymaking and implementation in China, especially in the areas of health and environment. In her research, she aims to identify and explain the role of different stakeholders in policymaking, the driving forces of policy change, and the design and content of public policies in China. Key topics in her research include antimicrobial resistance, health reform, epidemic outbreaks, food safety, crisis management, natural disasters, soil pollution, and environmental accidents. Van den Dool has a B.A. in Chinese languages and cultures from Leiden University, the Netherlands; an M.Sc. in environmental science, policy and management from Lund University, Sweden; and a Ph.D. in law from the University of Amsterdam.
